TECHNOLOGY.
It is often said that imitation is the greatest flattery. This
swiss design is a testament to that theory as it forms the basis
of many competitors products. But before atempting to recreate
any product you must know its sercrets, these sercrets are hidden
inside the extrememly powerfulon board microprocessors.Technology
used in the Boxer has been perfected over many years of continued
researchand development, and is in use througout many countries
of the world. And of course you receive the same attention to
detailas you would expect from a world class product. At
Solar Energy Australia we are aware that our local conditions
are much harsher than in any other part of the world. Using an
engineering team with many years experience in power electronics,
every design is rigorously tested and optimised for our local
conditions. Special locally manufactured torodial transformers
and chassis's are utilised along with increased thermal capacities.
EFFICIENCY.
The
energy stored in your batery is extremely valuable, and no inverter
can claim to be 100% efficient. At SEQA we recognise that inverters
will spend a large amount of their time working only 5 or 10%
of their capability. As a result we have achieved a very high
efficiency figure at just 5% of load, a figure not often shown
in literature.
APPLIANCE COMPATIBILITY.
Check
the rating label on your appliance to ensure it is within the
rating of your boxer. Ensure the AC amps reading on the appliance
is within the AC amps of the inverter. This figure is also known
as 'AC I' and is usually found on a label underneath the appliance.
Appliance ratings may also be written in watts or VA, match these
to the watts rating of your Boxer. Keep
in mind that motors may require up to 6 times their normal running
power in order to get started.
BATTERIES.
Your
battery or battery bank must be in good condition and of a suitable
size. Traction or deep cycle batteries are generally most suitable,
depending on your application. Your supplier should be able to
assist you with the appropriate battery. please note however,
that without the correct battery/batteries, you will not be able
to achieve maximum performance from your inverter.
Batteries used to power your Boxer can be recharged using solar
modules with regulator, wind turbine, hydro generator, car or
truck alternator or battery charger powered from mains electricity
or diesel generator.

If
using a Boxer in a mobile home, boat or vehicle, it is wise to install
an auxiliary battery to run the inverter. This will ensure the starting
batteries remain fully charged at all times. Contact your supplier
for correct choice of battery type and size.
But remember, you must keep your battery charged, if not the Boxers
intelligent disconnect feature will be activated, to save your battery.
BATTERY
DRAW - how long does my battery last?
SEA Inverters are extremely efficient, and therefore use very little
power to run their internal circuits. An SEA inverter will only
use as much power as the appliance needs.
Here
is a simple formulae to help you work out how long your fully charged
battery will last.
In this formulae the following is assumed:
o ACWatts = figure written on
the rating label of the AC (240) appliance.
o Watts = Volts x Current(Amps)
o AH = Ampere Hour capacity
of the battery.
o DC I = DC Current drawn
by the appliance
o Only 50% of the batteries
capacity will be used to allow it to recover.
For
example, a 16 inch TV running on 130AH battery
has an AC draw of 67 watts.

If
you recharge your battery during this time, with solar panels or
driving the vehicle then this time will be extended.
* Use a figure of 20 if your battery voltage is 24v DC.
o
This formular should be used as a guide only.
FIELD
SERVICEABLE.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong and a repair is
required, simply contact your local authorised dealer who in most
cases can repair your Boxer quickly without costly freight.
PROTECTION AND SAFETY.
To ensure safe and reliable operation at all times, SEA inverteres
are protected against Battery Voltage out of range, AC Overload
and Thermal Overload. All AC connections are totally isolated from
the battery input allowing maximum safety.
